Since the original 1980s yarn may be discontinued, substitute with standard DK weight wool/acrylic such as  Paintbox Yarns Simply DK or Valley Yarns Superwash DK.
Knitting Needles: One pair 3 mm straight needles.
Notions: Blunt embroidery needle; 7 buttons.
Gauge: 25 sts and 35 rows = 10 cm square (4″) in stocking stitch on 3 mm needles.
