Skill Level: Easy/Beginner.
Construction: Worked in the round on 3 double-pointed needles from the cuff down; heel flap worked back and forth then turned, gusset stitches picked up and decreased, foot worked even, toe shaped with paired decreases and grafted closed.
Finished Measurements: Woman’s small. The size (foot length) can be easily adjusted by changing needle or yarn size. Most toe shapings add about 2″ to the length of foot;  changing the size of needles or yarn to adjust the gauge is all that is required: use larger needles and/or yarn for larger socks, smaller for smaller socks.
Pattern Style: Written in standard US knitting terms, with a full abbreviations key included.
Stitches: Knit, purl, k2tog, ssk, slip stitch, stockinette stitch, k2 p2 ribbing.

Recommended Materials & Tools

Yarn: Sock/fingering weight — approximately 245 yds / 223 m (2 oz / 60 g).
Substitute yarn: Standard modern sock weight yarn such as Paintbox Yarns Socks or Cascade Yarns 220 Fingering.
Knitting Needles Size: US 4 / 3.5 mm double-pointed (or size needed to obtain gauge).
Notions: Yarn needle for grafting the toe and weaving in ends.
Gauge: 7½ sts = 1″ (2.5 cm) in stockinette stitch on size 4 (3.5 mm) dpns.
