Description
Bath Cloth / Pot Holder
Size: approximately 8″ x 8″ (20 x 20 cm)
Use leftover cotton yarn to make this reversible shelled square to use in a bathroom or kitchen!
RECOMMENDED CROCHET HOOK
US H (5 mm) crochet hook
GAUGE
27 pattern sts x 15 rows = 8″(20 cm)
RECOMMENDED YARN
Worsted medium-weight cotton yarn or blend, approximately 1½ oz (45 g)
INSTRUCTIONS
Ch 28, turn.
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch and in each next ch across, turn. 27 sts on row (multiple of 4+3).
Row 2: ch 3, dc in 1st sc, *sk next sc, sc in next sc, sk next sc, (cl, ch 1, cl) in next sc (shell), rep from *, end with sc in last sc, turn. 6 shells on row.
Row 3: ch 3, dc in back loop of 1st sc, sc in middle ch sp of 1st shell, *(cl, ch 1, cl) in back loop of next sc, sc in middle ch sp of next shell, rep from *, end with sc in top of ch-3 turning st, turn.
Rep (row 3) 13 times or as many times as necessary for the piece to make a square.
Without breaking yarn, work picot edging around starting with side edge:
|| *(sl, ch 3, sl) in same edge st sp (picot), ch 1, sk next edge st, rep from * to corner, ending with picot at corner,
**(sl, ch 3, sl) in same st (on foundation row), ch 1, sk next 2 sts, rep from ** to end of row, ending with picot at corner, ||
rep steps between || and || to beg of round. End edging with ch 15 to make a hanging loop.
Fasten off, adjust the loop and weave the ends in.
