~ Scarf With Edging Knitting Pattern ~

A long scarf knitted in the fan-and-garter stitch and decorated with 3-dimensional elements:
a collar and an edging worked in the bell-stitch

Required level of skills



width (incl. edging): approx 12”/30 cm, length (inner edge): approx 50”/127 cm
width: 4”/10 cm, length (inner edge): 25”/63 cm


1) Variegated yarn for main scarf piece:
1 skein of worsted medium-weight acrylic yarn 4 ply
(235 yds/215 m, 5 oz/141 g per skein)
Red Heart Super Saver Economy Prints in any of following shades: Wildflower, Shaded Dusk, Macaw, Ocean
(Ocean was used for sample)
2) Solid yarn for collar and edging:
1 skein of worsted medium-weight acrylic yarn 4 ply
(3.5 oz /99 g per skein)
Red Heart Solids, shade: Robin Blue (used for sample) or alike
Substitute: Red Heart Baby Hugs, shade: Blue

Recommended needles

~ US #8 (5 mm) straight needles, 14”/36 cm
~ US #8 (5 mm) circular needle, 40”/102 cm
